Journey or a trip is defined as a traveling from one place to another. Only a few journey will be a memorable one and lingers in your heart forever. The last trip of 14 days was one of my best trip i ever had and i thought of sharing the same with you guys.
You guys know that i joined CPCL after completing my college. Since then, i never went for an external training. I believed that it was my bad luck but everything changed as the year 2010 was counting it days. I was very much delighted to hear that i was nominated for a week's training program at Delhi. My colleague Vhishnu, my room mate and my colleague Bala along with two managers were also nominated for the program. So we planned and geared up for the trip to Delhi.
After celebrating Pongal festival in our hometown, we came back to Chennai on 15th Jan - 11 to begin our 36 hrs journey to Delhi in Tamilnadu express.
Laptop, books and playing cards were our options for time pass. Around 14:00 hrs of next day, we reached Nagpur the city famous for orange. From there the temperature started decreasing as our train proceeded towards north. After Nagpur, our train stopped at Itarsi, a city in Madhyapradesh. The temperature was around 15 DegC and itarsi is famous for Jalebi . If you guys happen to travel by train to Delhi, don't miss Jalebi here. The next stop was at Bhopal. Without knowing the temperature outside, i just stepped out and started to have a small walk in the platform. within minutes, my hands started shivering which made me to realise the temperature outside. Yes, the temperature was around 10 DegC and yet i enjoyed the climate over there as we don't get any opportunity to enjoy the same here in Chennai.
Finally on 17-Jan-2011, we reached Nizamudin from where we went to our company guest house. We had one week training program at Gurgoan for which we travelled from our guest house to Gurgoan daily. I was really amazed with the infrastructure of Delhi. The most common car found in the roads of Delhi was Honda City & Civic The population of cars was more than two wheelers, in the roads of Delhi. In spite of such a cold weather ( 5 - 6 Deg C) , we didn't waste even a single evening staying at room.

One of the most memorable thing was the dinner we took in Moti Mahal, a restaurant in Chandini Chowk. They were the pioneers of Tandoori chicken and I bet you cant have a tastier chicken anywhere in the world. I suggest you guys to go to the restaurant if u have a chance.
After five days of training, we planned for a local site seeing tour on Saturday. Unfortunately, because of Republic day celebration, we were not able to see Red fort and India Gate. Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, Indira Gandhi's house, Nehru's house, Gandhi Samadhi and Lakshminarayanan temple were the places we visited. I have to mention a few words on Delhi Metro rail here. What a good plan!!! Not even a single passenger can travel without the token (ticket). Train was fully air-conditioned with automated doors. The train route map was indicated in each compartment with LED indicating the last and the next station to come. Apart from this, a voice announcement also informs the next station and the platform direction. On 23-Jan-2011, as we boarded the flight to Chennai, the first half of my trip came to an end.
The next half started on the same day with a trip to Tirunelveli to attend my sister cum my best friend's marriage. This time i was accompanied by my friend Pradeep, vivek and his brother. I met vivek after a years time since he left to US to pursue his masters. Wat else you can expect when good friends meet each other after a long time. We chatted on our past, present and what not. I travelled around 3000 km in 24 hrs (From northern end to southern end) to reach Tirunelveli. After refreshing our self, we went to attend her marriage. I still remember the excitement on her face on seeing all of us together in her marriage.

After attending her marriage, we planned to go to Papanasam waterfalls. My self along with my mom, sis (joined with them at the marriage) and with my friends went to the waterfall. We travelled in the same cab, that were used for shooting the shopping scene in the film Yaaradi Nee Mohini (Shopping Scene). After an hour travel, we reached the falls. Since it was not a big waterfall, not so many people will come here. Added to our luck, no one was there at the time we went there. We enjoyed each and every moment under the falls. It gives u immense pleasure and joy when u meet your best friend after a long time and pain when the time comes to depart. From the waterfall, we went to a temple nearby from where i headed towards Trichy with my family while Vivek and Pradeep headed to Coimbatore bringing an end to the memorable trip.
P.S:
Sorry guys for posting it so early... :)
